Partnership Initiatives

Over the years, the Ministry of Education, Youth & Information has engaged a number of private sector organizations in partnership agreements that assist us in carrying out our mandate of providing quality education in an innovative, inclusive and enabling environment.

Here are a few of the partnership arrangements that we have embarked on.

Restaurant of Jamaica (KFC)

Restaurant of Jamaica, franchisee of KFC, mission is to enhance people’s lives by providing great meals and memorable moments for customers and unforgettable careers for employees. The vision of the company is to be the first choice and most chosen restaurant brands anytime people want to eat.

The Ministry of Education, Youth & Information, through the Nutrition Products Limited, has partnered with Restaurant of Jamaica to provide meals to basic and primary school students across Jamaica.

 

Book Fusion

Book Fusion is a global technology platform that provides digital solutions for readers, publishers and authors, businesses, education institutions and enterprises.  Its mission is to revolutionize the way we read and interact with eBooks today by making reading eBooks easy, social, engaging and open across all devices.

The Ministry of Education, Youth & Information has partnered with Book Fusion to ensure that students have access to some of our learning resources using this online platform.

 

One on One Educational Services

The Caribbean leading e-learning solutions provider, powering regional Governments, businesses and schools with our award-winning LMS and e-Courses.

One on One has partnered with the Ministry of Education, Youth & Information to facilitate online learning through a blended approach.

 

Edufocal

Edufocal is an innovative social learning platform that combines study with play and is geared towards students at the primary and secondary levels of the educational system. The company is focused on using technology to enrich the learning experience outside of the classroom as well as to help ideate and innovate the way we move forward with technology and education.

The Ministry of Education, Youth & Information has partnered with Edufocal to provide educational content to students online.

 

Digicel Jamaica 

Digicel is a Caribbean mobile phone network and home entertainment provider operating in 33 markets across the Caribbean, Central America, and Oceania regions. Its mission is to deliver the best network, the best service and the best value to its customers and to give back to communities.

The Ministry of Education, Youth & Information has partnered with Digicel to facilitate greater access of internet services for students and teachers through the provision of a subsidized data plan and zero-rated data access to frequently used learning platforms and websites.  This move is in an effort to ensure the continued distance learning /home-schooling of our students amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

Flow Jamaica 

The Ministry also partnered with FLOW Jamaica that allows teachers and students to access data service at a reduced cost to facilitate distance learning engagements. Data grants have also been provided by the Ministry for selected teachers and student beneficiaries of the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH). The names of the selected teachers and students that were submitted by school administrators have been submitted to the data service providers who will activate the education data plans.

 

Television Jamaica (TVJ)

Television Jamaica (TVJ) is a subsidiary of the RJR Communications Group. Its mission is to  provide a motivational environment that inspires our team to create innovative content that engages, informs and entertains worldwide audiences.

The Ministry of Education, Youth & Information has partnered with the TVJ to provide free to air educational content for students at the primary and high school levels of the educational system during the recent COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ)

The PBCJ is a government organization whose mission is to provide quality broadcasting services to the widest cross section of the population and the diaspora; facilitating the articulation of contending views through private and public sectors by allowing free expression for the arts, culture, education and cultural affairs.

The Ministry of Education, Youth & Information partnered with PBCJ to promote educational content for students.

 

Ready TV

Digital Interactive Services Limited (DISL) is an independent, privately owned and a uniquely Jamaican company, holding an island-wide Special Subscriber Television License issued by the Government of Jamaica. The Company trades under the brand name “ReadyTV”.  Its mission is to provide an affordable, convenient and high quality subscriber television service for all Jamaicans, in a manner that is Rebellious, Energetic, Adaptive, Determined and Yummy. Our aim is to provide our television service when the customer is ready, putting the control and power in the hands of the consumers.

The Ministry of Education, Youth & Information has partnered with Ready TV to provide educational content to students online.
