Focus on Fathers During National Parent Month

The National Parenting Support Commission (NPSC) today (October 30) launched National Parent Month 2020, which will be observed in November.

 

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NPSC, Kaysia Kerr, said the theme for the Month, ‘Fathers Rise, Lead and Be Wise’, was carefully coined and was shaped out of a need to acknowledge fathers and to involve them in the education process.

 

Kids In Spotlight For National Children’s Day

As the country turns the spotlight on children for National Children’s Day on Friday (May 15), parents are being encouraged to break from their daily activities or routine and to immerse themselves in engaging in fun and bond-creating activities with their children.

NPSC Establishes 36 Helplines to Assist Parents

With many parents balancing working from home and home-schooling their children, due to measures to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), some are overwhelmed by this temporary ‘new normal’.

Enter the National Parenting Support Commission (NPSC), which has established 36 helplines across the island to aid parents as they grapple with the effects of the COVID–19 pandemic.

Parents Urged To Provide Structure For Students At Home

Chief Executive Officer of the National Parenting Support Commission (NPSC), Kaysia Kerr, is encouraging parents to provide structure for children during the time that they will be out of school due to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, on Friday (March 12), announced the closure of schools for 14 days beginning Monday (March 16).
