Thirty-six thousand, one hundred and five students were registered to sit the 2023 Grade 6 PEP

examinations. Of the 36,105 students, 35,618 were eligible to move on to high school and were placed
accordingly. There were 600 students who had registered to sit the Grade 6 PEP in 2023 but were

absent (Figure 1).

Of the total number of students registered for 2023 PEP 6, 4,307 were registered from Independent

schools or as private candidates and 31,798 were registered in the public schools (Table 1).
