The Permanent Secretary’s Secretariat conducts research on regulations, programmes and other documents for the Political Directorate, the Permanent Secretary, and the Ministry’s Agencies where necessary. It serves as the secretariat for all Senior Management meetings; prepares, coordinates and monitors Cabinet submissions; and coordinates the Ministry’s contribution to the Governor General’s Throne Speech and the Minister’s contribution to the Sectoral Debate.  It disseminates information to the public as directed by the Political Directorate and the Permanent Secretary
