Parliamentary Secretary

Senator Marlon Morgan serves as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth & Information (MoESYI). He is a Communications Specialist with considerable experience in public policy development, having served in several senior positions across government for close to two (2) decades. Senator Morgan previously served as Senior Technical Coordinator / Director of Executive Services in the MoESYI, where he, among other things, undertook research, prepared Cabinet Submissions, and provided support in policy development and the implementation and monitoring of programmes and interventions aimed at improving education outcomes.
Senator Morgan is a Professionally Accredited Director (PAD) – certified by GovStrat Limited (February 2019), and possesses a strong command of corporate governance, the Government of Jamaica’s Corporate Governance Framework, Public Bodies Management and Accountability, Public Procurement and Corporate Communications. He has served as a radio broadcaster and newspaper guest columnist. Senator Morgan is passionate about Jamaica’s economic and social development and has rendered service as a member of the board of the following organizations: the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ), HEART/NSTA Trust, the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), the Mico University College, Nutrition Products Limited, the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica, the National Council on Technical and Vocational Education and Training, the National Education Trust (NET), the Spectrum Management Authority (SMA), the Agro-Investment Corporation, the Quarries Advisory Committee, and the National Council on Education (NCE).
Senator Morgan is married, and is a former Vice President of Generation 2000 (G2K), a graduate of the University of the West Indies (Mona), and a proud Kingston College old boy.
